Secretary - Claire Markham
IF YOU talk to Claire
for long enough, you may be left with the impression that it was she rather
than Henry who trained Teodora Adivina! Truth be told, Claire invested a great deal of
time into progressing the filly, who thrillingly for her won two races in
the 2007 season. Claire’s industry extends beyond ‘first lot’ and she can be
found in the office from 8.45am onwards working hard in her capacity as
racing secretary to HRAC. She wanted to work in such a capacity from the
time when she was studying for a degree in Equine Sports Science in
Nottinghamshire. At the end of the first year, she attended an introductory
course in racing for equine students and that triggered her interest. After
graduating with a notable ‘first’, she undertook a racing secretary’s course
at the British Racing School and the rest is history. A spell at the TBA
preceded her employment at Warren Place in April 2007. In her spare time,
Claire can be found entertaining her dog Oscar or shooting hoops on the
netball court.
