Light Shift gave Henry Cecil a famous eighth Oaks win after holding off the challenge of Peeping Fawn in the closing stages at Epsom. Ridden by Ted Durcan, the 13-2 shot made a decisive move to the top of the field with three furlongs to go. The Cheshire Oaks winner first shrugged off the challenge of leader All My Loving, ridden by Christophe Soumillon. Although Peeping Fawn put in a strong run, Light Shift found another gear late on to take the win.
