Reference Point gave trainer Henry Cecil a second Derby win when storming to success at Epsom in 1987. He was a tough and hardy campaigner, who enjoyed a string of golden days. In partnership with Steve Cauthen, he proved a very tough nut to crack, winning the Derby, King George and St Leger in a fine three-year-old season.
